Cholecalciferol (vit D3) 500 IU, Ca 600 mg (as Ca carbonate 1.5 g), Mg 50 mg (as Mg oxide 82.9 mg), Zn 7.5 mg (as Zn oxide 9.34 mg), Mn 1.75 mg (as Mn sulfate monohydrate 5.39 mg), Cu 500 mcg (as cupric sulfate anhydrous 1.26 mg)
Indications/Uses
Prevention & treatment of osteoporosis; Ca & vit D deficiency states.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Patients w/ kidney disease or had kidney stones; stomach or digestion problems eg, on-going diarrhea, not absorbing nutrients properly, or not having enough acid in the stomach. Monitor blood regularly if using a large amount of Ca or in long-term use. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Ca/vit D: Abdominal distension/pain, constipation, diarrhea, excessive burping, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria & nephrolithiasis.
Drug Interactions
Avoid smoking cigarettes or cigars & drinking large amounts of alcohol or caffeine (eg, >8 cups of coffee). Ca: Phenytoin, tetracyclines (eg, doxycycline, minocycline), fluoroquinolones & levothyroxine. High-fiber meal (eg, bran, whole-grain cereal or bread, fresh fruits).
